Why BUMC:  As an institution, Baylor University Medical Center really walks the talk behind realizing patients safety, professionalism, and high-quality healthcare across the hospital.  The ED is an incredibly unique practice environment where we care for a high acuity patient population comprised of both indigent patients (35%) and patients with the means to receive their healthcare anywhere in the US.  The ED is also incredibly autonomous, which allows our physicians and residents to practice every facet of the emergency medicine continuum without encroachment by other specialties.   The attendings who are attracted to this environment are compassionate, highly intelligent, and amazing.
