About Our Team

Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC), Baylor Scott and White Health's flagship institution, is proud to introduce our Emergency Medicine Residency Program established in 2019. Under the leadership of our esteemed board-certified faculty group, residents will flourish in our robust program through innovation, knowledge translation, and collaboration. Our mission is to shape the future of Emergency Medicine by developing residents into healthcare leaders who deliver outstanding quality care to patients and their families.

With over ten years of experience managing Emergency Medicine programs and a track record of developing residents into leaders, our faculty are highly regarded as leaders within both the field of Emergency Medicine and the graduate medical education community. In collaboration with our partners at Integrative Emergency Services (IES), we are committed to the advancement of clinical education, patient safety, quality healthcare outcomes, and dissemination of information that ensures best practices across our clinical sites. Our program's design is unique in that it combines best practice clinical academics and emergency department operations management training that prepares our residents to excel in every aspect of Emergency Medicine upon graduation; medical education, emergency medicine quality, process improvement, and implementation science, billing and coding, risk management, and optimal patient experiences. Through a rich data stream, residents receive performance dashboards providing them the ability to measure themselves against their peers, thereby taking ownership of individual improvement and increasing their clinical outcomes. We shape the future of Emergency Medicine.
